OUR BACKGROUND

 

BUFMC is designed to teach students, with all different levels of prior experience, the operations of Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools that they need in order to succeed in the corporate world. The purpose of our club is to help all students gain a competitive advantage in their careers. In addition, we strive to assist our members not only in developing the technical skills required for recruiting and career enhancement purposes, but we serve to guide and mentor them through these processes.

A brief overview of the topics we have covered in the past include basic and intermediate Excel functions, Excel shortcuts, financial statement analysis, weighted average cost of capital, Monte Carlo simulation, and many more. Each semester, we invite incredible speakers who come from well renowned financial institutions to share their experiences and network with our club members. Some of these companies include Barclays, Wellington Management, Moelis & Company, Highland Capital Partners, and Timber Creek Capital Management.
